The Kennedy Foundation is an enduring impact institution whose mission is to improve lives for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and their families.
The Foundation sought to create a visual identity that would be professional and friendly, modern and discerning, forward-thinking and practical.
In response, Wunderdogs created a modern visual concept that prized a polished, minimalist approach through the use of a monochromatic palette, clean lines and sharp contrast between forms of typography.
The impact of the monochromatic palette was heightened by the use of a bold red, symbolizing a bridge between the traditional and modern aesthetic. Intermittent visuals of people ensured the design retains a human feel, which links with the communities that the organization seeks to empower.
Established design principles conveyed a sense of the Foundation as trustworthy, while geometric black and white visuals introduced a sense of innovation. Graphically minimal but eye-catching layouts bring to mind precision and accuracy, which represents the organization’s work on public policy.
The resulting design captures the spirit of the Foundation: building on a historic legacy towards a new future.
