Digital Biology exists to help innovators in precision medicine measure, predict, and optimize the impact of medical advances on patient lives. The team at Digital Biology had worked hard to identify their unique position in the market but required a brand and website to live up to their ambition and impact. We worked with the team to create a visual identity and website that would give them presence and awareness in the market.

Brand shaped by discovery

To support innovators creating the next generation of medicines, Digital Biology utilizes a proprietary combination of molecular engineering, optics, chemistry, and AI to extract the information encoded within biological systems. The technology is like shining a light on the solutions that exist within cells. We used the concept of light and dark as a metaphor for the brand as a basis for the visual identity. A predominantly dark theme is brought to life with bright color accents, striking imagery, and contrasting typefaces to create a visual language that offers flexibility and distinctiveness.

Finding light in the dark

Bringing all the visual identity elements together for the website provided an opportunity to work with the contrast between light and dark. The user experience is designed to make it easy for users to find the information they need and for the Digital Biology team to balance communicating complexity clearly. Imagery, patterns, and graphic elements are used subtly to focus attention on the content, providing the team with a website experience that delivers on building awareness while communicating clear value.
