EcoCart makes carbon neutral shopping the new checkout standard within retail, micromobility, food delivery, and more. Their team works with brands either through direct partnerships or passive affiliate marketing services. As EcoCart raised $3M to democratize carbon offsetting for the e-commerce industry, we came on board as their digital platform partner to build a new website that would give their message wider reach, showcase their expansion and growth and position them as an established authority within sustainable commerce.
We worked hand in hand with the EcoCart team to first identify the areas for improvement, what was working and what wasn’t within the existing site. It became quickly apparent that the site was no longer performing as it needed to. We mapped out a complete overhaul to create a new, more engaging platform that gives users clear understanding about what EcoCart offers and the role it plays in connecting brand sustainability to customers.
Our first step was to reorganize the site foundations and resources. Mapping out a clear structure gave us a solid platform to build from. Introducing new features, content and pages allowed EcoCart to expand on what they do well to give users and potential customers a much clearer yet in depth understanding of what they offered.
We minimized white space, brought in deep colors, and animations to give the site more visual impact. Using photography from live EcoCart projects rather than stock helped us build stronger connections to customers' needs and enhance brand credibility. The overall visual language was designed to offer a more sleek, elevated and bold look that balanced the team's technical expertise with softer features to appeal to a more consumer focussed mindset.
An aspect we were conscious of was creating a site that not only looked great, but also performed well. We were able to introduce a lot of visual features without sacrificing the user experience and site performance while making it easy to update and evolve as the team and business grew.
The new site was launched in summer 2022 and in October EcoCart announced a $14.5M Series A fundraise. It now works with over 2000 brands including Walmart, Zegna and SkullCandy. The EcoCart team will continue building climate tools to enable ecommerce brands to operate more sustainably with a mission to make an impact with every online transaction.
